Halle Berry’s Abusive Love
Halle Berry used to be attracted to abusive men.
The Oscar-winning beauty regularly witnessed her father attack her mother when she was growing up and says it affected her choice in partners.
She said: “My mother was a battered woman and that was my childhood for a good chunk of it.
“Early on in my life, I made choices, and I chose men that were abusive because that was what I knew growing up.”
However, she underwent therapy and learned what to do if and when a relationship became violent.
The 43-year-old actress has now found happiness with model Gabriel Aubry, the father of her 19-month-old daughter Nahla.
She is also using her experiences to help others who have suffered domestic abuse and works closely with the Jenesse Center, a Los Angeles-based shelter which provides support for victims.
Halle – who was honoured by the centre four years ago for her humanitarian work – said: “I care, I really care about these women and children.”

You are right, I have been married for 35 years, fell in love with my husband when I was very Young and have two children. It was always control, jealousy, power game was played by husband. He is into gambling, lying and abusive. I am at bottom of this relationship, he has been disappering in the nights, bought a house Key from one of his co-worker, this guy never been married, single and no woman in his life. I never had a benefit of doubt that, these two are planning and my husband was preparing to leave me for another guy. It was extreemly abusive and violent. Still he is abusing me emotionally and financially. I have lost everything, I have to be strong to rebuild my life and my daughter is beautifull woman, it affected her and my son also. They are professionally successful, but emotionally torned apart. Me and my children need serious help. I am ready to give this message to the world, specially women and children who are victim of the abusive family member.
